One thing I find hard is creating layouts for my boys, there is so much product out there for our girls but so hard to find exciting boy products. I received a parcel from MEMORY MAZE CHIPBOARD and it it included lots of arrows. Arrows can be used for many things but I thought that they would look great on a layout for Alex.
Alex has found a wee mate who just lives around the corner. He loves to go round and play. I wanted to create a layout that showed their friendship. This is what I came up with.
I added memory Maze arrows to frame my photo, these have been altered by adding distress paint and hammered a bit to give texture. I then got other colour distress paint and rub it on with my finger to give more interest.
I added Tim Holtz rub-ons to the photo.
For the background I used one of my favourite techniques to do. Using a mask I add heavy gel medium and then use WOW foil papers over top. Yummy effect!
Close up of some of the arrows and the different texture you can create.
Thanks for popping on by, hope I have inspired you to go get those photos out and have some fun. Happy Scrappin everyone xox Donna
One thing I used to love doing was to join in scrapbooking challenges, something I have not done for a very long time. Last night My friend and I were checking something out on Facebook when a post on my news feed caught my eye… (click on the photo and it will take you to Sketchabilities blog)
I just loved the look of it and instead of doing what I had planned with some mouse traps (lol more on that later, and no we don’t have mice 🙂 I decided to give the sketch a go. After going through my papers which is a mission in its self I came back to doing what I love, creating with ink and making my own. I started off with making a background and then went from there. This is what I came up with.
I totally love the end result! it was so much fun and was great to get my fingers all inky again.
My back ground was made with a mixture of distress paints and inks.
I used small paper bags for my photo mats, and it also allowed me to creat some hidden journalling on tag, which I placed in one of the wee bags.
I just love this photo of my wee man, growing up so fast. Alex aged 5 at KFC Dunedin 🙂
Thanks Sketchabilities for creating such a fun sketch. I had so much fun and will be back for sure. So all you scrapper out there wanting a challenge go check their blog out. They have some amazing designers and awesome examples. You can find them HERE
